'Intelligence' by Jay Cool

Hands held high
in protest,
he hurtles forwards,
swerving in and out,
zig-zagging around
the feet of shoppers.

Against the law is it?
he hee-haws.
Ecstatic.
Get off the pavement?
he caws.
Chuffed.

Okay, then - I will?

Nipping nimbly, round
disability bay -
no dent or dint to
Motability SEAT-
he heaves.

Bike screeching.
Appealing.
Pleas unheard,
as boy-rider
launches and wheels
down cliff-
edge kerb.

Continuing onwards,
hurtling onwards,
through oncoming,
fast-coming cars,
heaving high
up one-way
street.

Hands hailing.

Cool.

Intelligent.
