A response to a Colchester Scribblers' Meetup challenge - to write about a 'first date'.
Heading for a date,
I arrived at the Tate
and bumped into my mate -
she was called Kate.
Quite a portrait
was she, with eyes of black slate
and hair of some weight,
that curled round a plate -
a plaque, titled 'Kate'.
And I chatted 'til late,
with my date, my best mate;
a portrait called 'Kate',
with a place at the Tate.

AN ODE TO GERTIE CHITS!
ReplyDeleteSweet Gertie Chits, Cute Gertie Chits
The boys just love your curvy bits
But silver foxes only look
Then cry upon their pension book!
